Ryan Reynolds is in the news these days for all the right and wrong reasons. And we’re definitely not complaining!
The Deadpool star has won, one too many hearts worldwide, for his on-screen performance and more so for his humour; on and off stage.
We all know that famed Wolverine star, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are best-buds. They’re known to throw punches and hilarious verbal jabs at each other on Twitter as well as Instagram. Sample this recent post from the Deadpool star:
The taunting and ridicule has been going on for more than a year now.
With millions of fans worldwide chomping down popcorn watching the duo have a go at each other, Reynolds and Jackman are now a crowd favorite.
What’s Blake Lively doing in all this?
Ryan’s gorgeous wife and actress, Blake Lively has always fallen prey to his jokes and jibes – both on-screen and off-screen. Their camaraderie and love for each other is so obvious that they are often called #couplegoals on social platforms. With New Year around the corner, Hugh Jackman, probably looking to try new ways of taunting ‘Deadpool’, decided to involve her.
He posted a picture of Blake and Reynolds at his coffee shop, ‘The Laughing Man’. The picture shows a very animated Lively with her hands in the air, trying to, apparently make a point. Reynolds is seen standing behind the counter, obviously being himself and bugging his wife.
Jackman seized the opportunity and posted a picture on Twitter, making light of ‘Deadpool’ . According to the Wolverine star, he intends for his customers to feel happy and peaceful at his coffee store, not stressed out and tired like Blake.
Going on one step further he even offered Blake Lively a lifetime of free coffee at his shop. Taking a jibe at Reynolds, he sympathizes with Blake and understands that her husband can be a handful to handle.
Hugh Jackman founded the ‘The Laughing Man Coffee Company’ as an initiative to help out coffee farmers in the low income regions of the world.
Why the feud though?
It is suspected that the feud is most likely related to Ryan Reynolds’ desire to merge Deadpool and Wolverine, which has been turned down by Jackman. It apparently all began with an interview that Hugh had with host, Willie Geist on Sunday Today.
Shedding light on the possibility of a ‘Wolverine’ comeback, Hugh said,
Oh, Wolverine will be back. Someone’s going to buy him, I don’t know.Hugh Jackman
On being asked if he is going to be the one that buys the Wolverine Franchise, Hugh Jackman said:
No, but Ryan [Reynolds] is relentless. He keeps coming back to me in all these ways, shapes and forms.Hugh Jackman
I just said, ‘You know, I just don’t think the world really wants to see Deadpool with Wolverine.’ Maybe a cameo from Deadpool? I just think it runs over it for Deadpool.
Responding to Hugh’s statement of him being cynical about a collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine, Reynolds took to Twitter with his classic sarcasm on point.
Looks like Reynolds’ dream of merging Deadpool and Wolverine on the silver screen is a very distant possibility as of now. But as long as we get to see them off-screen, we’re not complaining!
