GOT fans are counting days for their favorite show to return with the final season. This season has been long awaited and will have our favorites fighting for the throne. Who wins is something that everyone is constantly speculating. Also, we don’t have just one favorite, do we?! Amidst talks and discussions and fan theories, iconic writer and father of GOT, George RR Martin has managed to tease us with his latest tweets.
Are We Ready?
As per the ‘A song of Ice and Fire’ author, not only will there be a long Game of Thrones trailer, but also a teaser. Fans are going crazy post his tweet. It has already received countless likes and comments, and is being constantly retweeted. Martin has also included the link to the recently released teaser by HBO confirming 14th April as the release date.
HBO has announced the premiere date for the eighth (and final) season of GAME OF THRONES. Mark it down on your calendars: APRIL 14. There’s a new teaser too (and a longer trailer in the works): https://t.co/RJCCpEZtEV— George RR Martin (@GRRMspeaking) January 17, 2019
If you are a diehard GOT fan, you must have already seen the latest teaser. Taking the world by storn, it showed the Starks in the crypts underneath Winterfell. It’s the place where their ancestors lie buried. As Jon, Arya and Sansa walk through the crypts they come across three statues. What is causing greater concern is the way the statues look. The statues are that of Sansa, Arya and Jon. What has caught our attention is the fact that Jon’s statue looks older than his sisters’. Also, not to forget, the place looked as if life had been sucked out of it. This strongly suggests that the White Walkers are heading south.
Although it’s evident that the presence of the statues in the crypts indicates that the three will die, there is a strong possibility that Jon will die after his sisters. This is what one of the fans had to say and we kind of agree with the possibility.
Omg I think I get it! I have a theory! Those are statues of the dead right? Arya’s & Sans a look like them are that age because they die at that age. Jon’s statue is old because he lives to old age and bran isn’t there because he’s going to be immortal or some shit.
When’s The Final Book Releasing Martin?
What’s interesting is that Martin has refused to say anything further keeping the fans guessing. Naturally, some fans were eager to know when he planned to release his final book, Winds of Winter. A fan commented, “Hopefully the next book is out at some point not too long after the show is over. The show is amazing, but there’s always so much more depth in books that shows don’t have the time to delve into”. Yet another user added, “Where’s the Winds of Winter though?”
The book is expected to release next year and would be the penultimate one of the series. In an exclusive interview with the Guardian earlier, Martin had said, “I’ve been struggling with it for a few years. The Winds of Winter is not so much a novel as a dozen novels, each with a different protagonist, each having a different cast of supporting players, antagonists, allies and lovers around them, and all of these weaving together against the march of time in an extremely complex fashion. So it’s very, very challenging. Fire and Blood by contrast was very simple. Not that it’s easy – it still took me years to put together – but it is easier.”
Let’s see which new clues wait upon us in the new trailer.
